Glendora Unified To Consider Firm To Meet State Construction Requirements

The Glendora Unified School District board of education will discuss Monday night and possibly approve a contract with a firm to help meet state requirements regarding the Glendora High School modernization project.

The district reported that crucial paperwork for the modernization project was not completed, or was not filed correctly with the Division of the State Architect. In order to meet state requirements and to move forward with future construction projects, an outside firm is needed to closeout the project.

District officials are considering an agreement with WLC Architects, Inc. to help with project closeouts, according to Marc Chaldu, assistant superintendent of business services.

WLC Architects, Inc. has already been communicating with the district on what is needed to complete the paperwork commitments, Chaldu said.

The agreement, which would be effective from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, is not to exceed $25,000.

The board will discuss this item and others at the Jan. 13 board of education meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. at 500 North Loraine Avenue.
