Bio: I am a life-long resident of the San Gabriel Valley.

I do enjoy a good bike ride every now and then. I live the life of a journalist, so Top Ramen and canned food are my closest friends. Oh, and my police scanner is never too far behind.

When I'm not writing, I tend to catch a good baseball game, go to the bating cages, watch some good tv, or just sleep.

I am in the process of creating a graphic novel, completely written and illustrated by yours truly.

I love collecting graphic novels—The Garth Ennis "Punisher Max" series is a good read. Alan Moore's "V For Vendetta" is an absolute masterpiece.

I spent many years (too many, actually) at Citrus College in Glendora, where I discovered the world of mass media. I spent five years as a member of The Citrus College Clarion wearing many hats as staff writer, page designer, photographer, cartoonist, videographer, managing editor, photo technician and teaching assistant. I had the good fortune to serve as copy editor and designer for eight weeks at The San Gabriel Valley Tribune in 2007 editing Associated Press stories. My academic journey took me to Cal Poly Pomona where I lent my services to The Poly Post as writer, photographer, managing editor, lead designer, cartoonist, assistant web editor, ad designer, videographer and used social media for real-time news updates.

At Cal Poly I served as sports information intern at Bronco Athletics, where I wrote a plethora of feature articles on successful alumni—The owner of the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, head athletic trainer for the LA Clippers, and a slew of overseas athletes—and contributed baseball articles. I also provided basketball briefs for the NCAA web site during Cal Poly's 2011 West Region Tournament and the womens team's historic post-season appearance.

I graduated this June with a bachelors of science in communications.

Now I write for Glendora's Patch.com site and I must say it's much fun. There's rarely a minute to take a breath in between writing and interviewing ... and that's the way I love it.

I learned to love journalism because, when used properly, we can change our community and make it better for us all. Staying informed is one of the best things we can do for ourselves and with that there is no stopping our free republic. Read the news! You'll find you can't take your eyes off it.
