Citrus College RISE Team Is Finalist for Lakers Youth Foundation Grant

A group of Citrus College STEM students has been announced as one of five finalists for a special grant offered by the Lakers Youth Foundation.

The YOU grant, offered by the Lakers Youth Foundation, is a $5,000 grant offered to the group of students who receive the most votes through an online selection process of the public's choice, officials said in a press release.

The winning team also receives two-lower level to a Lakers home game to be used for the ceremonial check presentation.

The public can vote until Jan. 31.

RISE, Research In Science and Engineering, is an undergraduate team made up of three teams: the Rocket Owls, Space Owls and CAPE Owls.

Citrus College's RISE team is composed of 22 students in the STEM fields. Students involved in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields can work on special projects while sharing their knowledge and passion with elementary and middle school students.
