Charter Oak To Hold Town Hall Meeting on LCFF

The Charter Oak Unified School District will hold a town hall meeting to discuss a mandatory component under the Local Control Funding Formula.

The town hall meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 13 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Cedargrove Elementary, 1209 North Glendora Avenue in Covina.

At the meeting, Superintendent Mike Hendricks will discuss the Local Control Accountability Plan, which is a three-year roadmap identifying school goals and will measure student success across measured subgroups.

The meeting ls held to gather input from stakeholders, that being the parents and Charter oak community, school officials said.

Parental involvement in the LCAP process is one of the eight priorities districts must address under the new funding formula, as involvement helps guide funding policy, according to edsource.org.

Amongst parental involvement, student achievement, student engagement, course access, other student outcomes, school climate, basic services and implementation of Common Core will be discussed.
