Candidates Set for Nov. 8 School Board Elections
Four candidates vie for seats on the Glendora Unified School Board while five file for candidacy on the Charter Oak Unified School Board.
With the deadline to file for candidacy in the Nov. 8 school board elections come and gone, the field of candidates is set.
In addition , Cory Ellenson, a life-long Glendora resident, will run in the Glendora Unified School District race. Lois Shade, a high school secretary and former Glendora mayor, will run in Charter Oak’s school board election.
Ellenson, 25, spent his early academic career in Glendora Unified.

“I am passionate about education and serving the students of Glendora. I am excited to offer the Board my unique perspective as a recent Glendora graduate who has successfully encountered the rigorous competition in college admissions,” Ellenson said.
Ellenson was a guest teacher at Glendora High School starting Feb. 2011 teaching constitutional law, criminal law, civil law, and trial procedure.

“This experience is what inspired me to run for Glendora School Board,” Ellenson said. “I loved interacting with the students.”
During his time at the UCLA School of Law and USC School of Accounting, Ellenson secured numerous internships and externships. While performing the work of a tax attorney, he gained experience in tax law and accounting while working for the California Attorney General in 2009, the United States Senate in 2010 and the United States Department of the Treasury in the summer of 2010.
