Three Arrested After Burglary at Walmart
Suspects fled supermarket just as officers arrived, but didn't get very far.
Two women and their male driver were arrested Monday night, accused of burglarizing
Arrested were Ramon Garcia, 23, Emmanuela Peer, 18, and Charlotte Carmody, 18, all on suspicion of burglary. The latter was additionally booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance.
The theft occurred after 9 p.m. Monday when employees spotted the two women allegedly taking clothing items and hiding them in a purse.
The women left the store and entered a waiting vehicle, said Lieutenant Joe Ward of . The thefts suspects, their driver and another woman left the parking lot as officers were arriving.
A Glendora officer followed the theft suspects as they traveled on the interstate 57 freeway southbound. The suspects eventually exited on Covina Blvd., where the officer held them in a felony traffic stop until more officers arrived to take everyone into custody, Ward said.
The three are scheduled to appear in West Covina Superior Court Aug. 23
