Teens Rescued From San Dimas Ravine

From City News Service

Two boys were hospitalized today, one in a critical condition, after being rescued from a ravine in San Dimas, Monday evening.

One of the juveniles is 15. The other's age was not released. Both are residents at the nearby McKinley Children's Center in the 700 block of Cypress Ave., said Sgt. Victor Ibara of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's San Dimas Station, adding they were reported missing about 7:30 p.m. Monday and it was believed they had wandered away from the property, which backs onto the ravine.

Supervisor Ed Pickett of the Los Angeles County Fire Department said the 15-year-old was unconscious when found and extracted from the ravine, and he was transported by air to a local hospital in critical condition. Pickett described the second victim's injuries as minor.
