Police Blotter: Thefts, Burglaries and Fraud

Local police activity for the week of Jan. 23 to Jan. 29.

The following information was supplied by the Glendora Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Jan. 23, Lt. Caldwell and Lt. Ward on duty.

  • At 1:47 p.m. officers investigated a theft report in the 600 block of W. Mountain View Avenue. A credit card and drivers license were stolen from the location, Caldwell said.
  • At 2:36 p.m. officers performed a pedestrian check in the 600 block of S. Grand Avenue and arrested the subject on an outstanding warrant. The subject was cited for $600 and released.
  • At 3:46 p.m. officers responded to an injury traffic collision on Route 66 at Glenwood Avenue. Officers arrested Matthew Smith, 19, on suspicion of driving without a license and failure to provide proof of insurance. Smith was held in lieu of $100 bail.
  • At 10:12 p.m. officers investigated a graffiti report in the 700 block of E. Mauna Loa Avenue. A sign to Centennial Heritage Park was defaced with a Sharpie Marker, officers said.
  • At 11:15 p.m. officers investigated a vandalism report in the 900 block of S. Grand Avenue.

Tuesday, Jan. 24, Lt. Caldwell and Sgt. Egan on duty.

  • At 10:55 a.m. officers investigated a grand theft auto report in the 900 block of S. Briargate Lane.
  • At 12:22 p.m. officers investigated a parked in the parking lot in the 1200 block of S. Lone Hill Avenue. Once officers arrived and detained the three occupants, they learned the subjects were involved in a burglary at a house in Azusa. Officers arrested Brian Ibarra, 18, and two 17-year-old teens, on suspicion of burglary and receiving known stolen property. Ibarra was held in lieu of $50,000 bail. The teens were released to their parents with written promises to appear in court.
  • At 1:56 p.m. officers investigated a residential burglary report in the 1200 block of E. Juanita Avenue. The resident returned home and noticed the rear door to the home was forced open, police said.
  • At 4:28 p.m. officers investigated a residential burglary report in the 400 block of S. Willow Avenue.

Wednesday, Jan. 25, Lt. Caldwell and Lt. Ward on duty.

  • At 3:09 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of S. Burnaby Drive and arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI, having a blood alcohol level above the legal limit and possessing marijuana while driving. The subject was cited for $5,000 and released.
  • At 8:25 a.m. officers investigated a in the 1300 block of E. Route 66. An unidentified suspect or suspects cut off the valve to a water system at, 1350 E. Route 66, Caldwell said.
  • At 10:10 a.m. officers investigated a theft report in the 600 block of S. Elwood Avenue. Police reported another stolen copper valve at the apartments on Elwood.
  • At 1:01 p.m. officers investigated a vehicle burglary report in the 1600 block of E. Palopinto Avenue.
  • At 4:42 p.m. officers investigated a grand theft auto report in the 900 block of S. Lone Hill Avenue.
  • At 5:26 p.m. officers responded to 655 S. Grand Avenue on an indecent exposure call. Officers arrested Scott Pickering, 23, on suspicion of indecent exposure with a prior and possession of a controlled substance. Pickering was held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
  • At 9:07 p.m. officers investigated a residential burglary report in the 1200 block of E. Bradford Drive.

Thursday, Jan. 26, Lt. Lamborghini and Sgt. Randazzo on duty.

  • At 8:59 a.m. officers investigated a grand theft auto report in the 600 block of N. Willowsprings Lane. The vehicle owner alleges their car was taken sometime the night prior.
  • At 11:54 a.m. officers responded to Walmart, 1950 E. Auto Centre Drive on a fraud in progress call. Three females allegedly conducted fraud while they were withdrawing money from an ATM inside the store, said Sgt. Mike Randazzo. Officers arrested Latisha Jackson, 37, Kerra Irby, 30, and Beverly Eggins, 45, on suspicion of receiving known stolen property. Jackson was held in lieu of $20,000 bail. Irby was additionally arrested on suspicion of driving without a license, had an outstanding warrant and was held in lieu of $25,000 bail. Eggins was arrested on suspicion of receiving known stolen property and was held in lieu of $20,000 before being transferred to the Century Regional Detention Facility.
  • At 12:11 p.m. officers conducted a pedestrian check on E. Plymouth Street at Bruning Avenue and arrested the subject on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The subject was held in lieu of $2,500 bail.
  • At 2:29 p.m. officers responded to Walmart on a fraud in progress call. Officers arrested Matthew Kuddar, 29, on suspicion of burglary. Kuddar was held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
  • At 4:08 p.m. officers responded to a theft in progress call at Kohl's, 1225 S. Lone Hill Avenue. Officers arrested Devin Hindin, on suspicion of theft and possession of a controlled substance. Hindin was held in lieu of $1,000 bail.

Friday, Jan. 27, Sgt. Randazzo on duty.

  • At 1:28 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on Grand Avenue south of Covina Blvd. in the city of Covina. Officers arrested the driver on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia. The driver was cited for $250 and released.
  • At 10:56 a.m. officers conducted a pedestrian check in the 100 block of W. Foothill Blvd. and arrested Theodor Popescu, 32, on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Popescu was held in lieu of $2,500 bail.
  • At 12:10 p.m. officers were called to Sam's Club, 1310 S. Lone Hill Avenue on a theft report. Store officials allege copper wire was stolen from some truck trailers near the southeast corner of the store at the loading docks, police said. It was unclear who owned the trucks.
  • At 12:18 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance in the 400 block of S. Minnesota Avenue. There was a dispute between a male and female at the location. Officers arrested the male subject on suspicion of trespassing and refusing to leave at the request of the owner. The subject was cited for $1,000 and released.
  • At 5:05 p.m. officers investigated a theft report in the 900 block of N. Englewild Drive. Some items were taken from an unlocked vehicle, Randazzo said.
  • At 9:24 p.m. officers were called to , 1225 S. Lone Hill Avenue. Loss prevention reported they had two theft suspects detained at the store. Officers arrested Sara Beltrame and Brittany McGinnis, both 18, on suspicion of theft. Both suspects were cited for $1,000 and released.

Saturday, Jan. 28, Lt. DeMond on duty.

  • At 1:45 a.m. officers were out at the 500 block of S. Forestdale Avenue on extra patrol and arrested Brianne DiMontigny, 18, on an outstanding warrant. DiMontigny was held without bail.
  • At 1:56 a.m. officers conducted a pedestrian check at , 1950 E. Auto Centre Drive. Officers arrested the subject on several outstanding warrants. The subject was held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
  • At 10:45 a.m. officers investigated a vandalism report in the 900 block of S. Brightview Drive.
  • At 11:25 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of W. Bennett Avenue and arrested the subject on an outstanding warrant. The subject was cited for $15,000 and released.
  • At 3 p.m. officers investigated a theft report in the 1700 block of E. Route 66.
  • At 6:41 p.m. officers responded to , 655 S. Grand Avenue on a public drunkenness call. Officers arrested Greg Orr, 52, on suspicion of disorderly conduct resulting from alcohol and on an outstanding warrant. Orr was held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
  • At 7:18 p.m. officers arrived to Walmart on a burglary in progress call. Officers arrested Benjamin Rico, 21, on suspicion of burglary. Rico was held in lieu of $20,000 bail.


Sunday, Jan, 29, Lt. Sgt. Strong and Lt. Ward on Duty.

  • At 12:28 a.m. officers conducted a pedestrian check in the 600 block of S. Grand Avenue. Officers arrested the 50-year-old subject on an outstanding warrant. The subject was cited for $25,000 and released.
  • At 12:52 a.m. officers responded to Route 66 near Pasadena Avenue on a suspicious circumstances call. The caller alleged several men were chasing another. Officers arrived and interviewed the subjects, eventually arresting a male subject on suspicion of obstructing a police officer. The subject was cited for $1,000 and released.
  • At 8:55 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of W. Leeside Street. Officers arrested the driver on several warrants. The subject was held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
  • At 5:07 p.m. officers performed a pedestrian check on Vecino Avenue at Route 66 and arrested the subject on an outstanding warrant. The subject was held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
  • At 8:33 p.m. officers conducted a pedestrian check on S. Grand Avenue at Arrow Highway and arrested the subject on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The subject was held in lieu of $2,500 bail.
