La Verne Man Dies in Crash Near Glendora

A 61-year-old man died after crashing into a moving vehicle and then slamming into a tree on Foothill Boulevard Tuesday night near the Glendora and San Dimas Border, deputies said.

The man was identified by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office as Kevin Bohannon, according to City News Service.

The collision occurred at 10:02 p.m. in the 200 block of West Foothill Boulevard. The 61-year-old man, a resident of La Verne, was driving his 2005 GMC Z71 pickup truck eastbound at a high rate of speed. The man rear-ended the driver of a 2004 Ford F150 pickup truck in the No. 1 lane. The GMC left the road and struck a tree in the center island, deputies said in a written statement.

Bohannon was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, a 46-year-old woman from La Verne, was wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured. It was unclear if the man was wearing his seatbelt, or was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, deputies said.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
