Glendora PD Locates Man Who Attempted Suicide

Late night search for suicidal man by Sheriffs, Glendora PD yields trail of blood, ends up at area park.

Glendora Police located a bloodied man last night at a local park after he attempted suicide near Arrow Highway.

Deputies from the San Dimas Sheriff's station received a call around 7 p.m. about a Hispanic male who cut himself in his bathroom at the Royal Palms mobile park, 21210 E. Arrow Highway, according to Sgt. Pete Shupe of the San Dimas Sheriffs.

Deputies arrived to find the man gone and found a large blood trail.

According to Sgt. Jeffrey Reiley the man allegedly slash his wrists with a razor blade.

"We were afraid he may have passed away with as much blood as the deputies saw," Reiley said.

Deputies allegedly found the razorblade used, Reiley said.

Glendora Police were called around 20 minutes after deputies arrived and aided in the search for the victim, according to deputies.

The suicidal man allegedly walked all the way to Lone Hill Park on Shellman and West Juanita avenues about one block south of the Glendora Marketplace where Glendora Police found him, according to deputies.

Authorities observed the man sitting on a slide at the park, still bleeding, according to Shupe.

The suicidal man was then taken to an area hospital where he is recovering, Reiley said.
