Deputies Announce Arrest of LASD Theft Suspect

The man accused of stealing personal property from Sheriff's deputies at Raging Waters has been arrested, authorities said.

Randy Sandoval, 19, was arrested in Alhambra Nov. 11 after having been released by Alhambra Police after an arrest, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department press release. Sandoval was taken into custody by Sheriff's Parks Bureau detectives and is being held at the Palmdale Sheriff's Station in lieu of $60,000 bail.

Detectives working on the theft case received information of Sandoval being detained by Alhambra Police, but upon arrival, learned Sandoval had been released. Alhambra officers searched an area around the station, found Sandoval and detained him for deputies, authorities said.

Sandoval's sister, Debbie Sandoval, 28, from El Monte, was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to the theft. She is being held at the Palmdale Station in lieu of $20,000 bail.

The theft occurred at a private party held for Sheriff's Deputies and their families at Raging Waters, Sept. 22. Two bags containing personal property belonging to the deputies, including badges and other identification, were taken from the water park.

The stolen property has not been recovered.
