Authorities with the Azusa Police Department will be lifting the mandatory evacuation orders in the City of Azusa at 4 p.m., Friday.
Resident in the areas between Yucca Ridge and Ranch Road, Crystal Canyon Condo Complex and Mirador Housing Tract can return to their homes.
However, Mountain Cove residents will not be allowed back yet. Mountain Cove rests along the western edge of Highway 39 in the canyons and police reported rock slides along the road and hot spots remain in the area.
The Colby Fire continues to burn in the San Gabriel Mountains. The most current information still puts acreage burned at 1,709 acres with 30 percent containment. Red flag warnings have been extended into Saturday, officials said.
