Alleged Sport Chalet Thief Detained in Traffic Lanes
Suspect ran from employees, who chased him onto Grand Avenue.
Employees at pursued and detained a theft suspect in traffic lanes on Grand Avenue with the aid of a fire truck.
Glendora Police quickly arrived and arrested Trino Ramirez, 31, on suspicion of robbery and grand theft.
The theft occurred just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday, when employees at the Sport Chalet, 940 South Grand Avenue, caught the suspect stealing several items, including baseball bats, said Sgt. Scott Strong of Glendora Police.

When confronted, the suspect ran from employees, who then followed in hot pursuit. According to police, the employees detained the man in traffic lanes on Grand Avenue. A Los Angeles County fire truck was in the area and allegedly had been used by firefighters to block the suspect from further escape.
According to authorities, the suspect was combative with employees before police arrived.

Ramirez will appear in West Covina Superior Court ether Monday or Tuesday, police said.
