Alleged DUI Driver Arrested After Causing Road Hazards
Motorist followed DUI driver after the man is seen striking a curb twice, driving erratically.
An alleged DUI driver is being held without bail after a motorist helped alert police to the man's potentially dangerous driving Saturday night.
Earl Ogletree, 52, was booked on suspicion of DUI, driving on a suspended license resulting from a previous DUI and exceeding the legal blood-alcohol level. The charges were in violation of the terms of Ogletree's parole.
Glendora Police were called just before 11 p.m. by a motorist that the DUI driver was seen bouncing off curbs traveling westbound on Gladstone Street from Bonnie Cove Avenue, according to police. Scanner reports indicated the alleged DUI driver struck a curb at least twice and was seen on the wrong side of the road at one point traveling around 20 miles per hour.
Once police caught up the DUI driver, officers observed the car stopped in the middle of Gladstone Street in the 400 block causing some traffic to back up on the road, police said. Ogletree was then taken into custody.
