Tree Fire Reported Near 210, 57 Freeways

Early morning traffic slowed as authorities worked to free trapped driver.

Some nearby trees ignited after a car fire erupted in a collision on a transition road near the 210 freeway Tuesday morning.

It was not immediately known what caused the accident, but at least one vehicle was involved and rolled over on the interstate 57 transition road to the interstate 210 westbound around 12:14 a.m. Trees near the freeway also caught fire after the damaged car ignited, according to California Highway Patrol traffic logs.


Fire fighters reported at least one female occupant was trapped inside the vehicle upon arrival and suffered from unknown burns, according to initial scanner reports. Glendora Police had also been called and responded to the scene.

The No. 2 and 3 lanes were blocked by fire fighters as they worked to free the trapped occupant.

Around 12:30 a.m. the fire had been extinguished. The patient was extricated and transported to an area hospital, the extent of the patient's injuries unknown, according to the CHP.
