Deputies Respond To Suspicious Package

An unattended box closes down streets around San Dimas shopping center.

Officials are attempting to identify the contents of an unattended box perched on a bus bench in San Dimas Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies with the San Dimas Sheriff's Station have closed off streets around the shopping center in the 1400 block of West Arrow Highway. It was unclear when deputies learned about the package, but the Sheriff's Department asked for Glendora Police to assist with traffic control just before 6:30 p.m.

What appears to be a box is sitting on the bus bench on the westbound side of Arrow Highway at Valley Center Avenue.

A deputy on scene said a bomb squad was going to be arriving to inspect the package, but when was not known at time of publication.
