Woman Arrested, Accused of Hitting Man Repossessing Her Car

The suspect attempted to get away, but officers stopped her.

A repossessor and his wife are doing fine after encountering an angry car owner who refused to relinquish her automobile.

The incident happened around 6:16 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of South Forestdale Avenue.

The suspect, 34-year-old Aaliyah Pierre, reportedly hit the repossessor a few times with the car at the center of the incident. The repossessor made his intentions known to Pierre. The man reportedly backed down after being hit, but Pierre then reportedly attempted to run the wife over, said Lieutenant Jamie Caldwell.

The wife was able to get out of the way. The husband did not receive any major injuries. Caldwell said.

Pierre then struck the husband and wife's vehicle a few times. She was eventually intercepted and arrested by police near the intersection of Barranca Avenue and Route 66, Caldwell said.

Pierre was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, hit and run and battery.

Pierre was transferred to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, awaiting her court appearance in West Covina Superior Court, scheduled for Aug. 28.
