Police Blotter: DUIs, Warrant Arrests and Thefts

Local police activity for the week of Dec. 26 to Jan. 1.

The following information was supplied by the Glendora Police department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Dec. 26, Lt. Ward on duty.

  • At 2:38 a.m. officers initiated a traffic stop on Grand Avenue at Route 66 and arrested Dominic Cattaneo, 42, on suspicion of DUI, for having a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit and for driving without a license. Cattaneo was cited for $5,000.
  • At 9:14 a.m. officers were out serving outstanding warrants and arrived to the 200 block of W. Payson Street and arrested Nael Khoury, 22, on a warrant. Khoury was held in lieu of $100,000.
  • At 2:55 p.m. officers initiated a traffic stop in the 100 block of N. Wabash Avenue on a vehicle code violation. Officers arrested Nicole Quesenberry, 32, on an outstanding warrant. Quesenberry was held in lieu of $15,000 bail.
  • At 5:07 p.m. officers responded to Chili's, 1371 E. Gladstone Street on a report of a stolen vehicle. A patron at the restaurant reported their blue 1996 Chevy Crew Cab pickup truck was stolen, Ward said.
  • At 9:59 p.m. officers responded to Walmart, 1950 E. Auto Centre Drive on a report of theft in progress. Officers arrested Juan Perez, 32,  Francisco Rojas, 20, and Leoncio Parez, 29, on suspicion of grand theft. All three suspects were cited on $20,000.


Tuesday, Dec. 27, Lt. Amaro and Lt. Ward on duty.

  • At 6:27 a.m. officers arrived to the 100 block of Oak Forest Circle on a vehicle burglary report. The victim alleges during the previous night, suspects entered their unlocked vehicle and stole an iPod and some tools, Ward said.
  • At 10:50 a.m. officers responded to 20th Century Motor Lodge, 1345 E. Route 66. An occupant of the motel refused to leave. Officers learned the room was registered to someone on parole and once officers arrived they found an occupant hiding in the bathroom and a syringe was found in the toilet tank of the motel room. Officers arrested Carla Bynog, 54, on suspicion of possession of a hypodermic needle. Bynog was cited for $500.
  • At 12:43 p.m. officers arrived to the 1100 block of E. Bradford Drive while performing warrant arrests. Officers took Michael Rangel, 19, under arrest on a battery warrant and was held in lieu of $15,000 bail.
  • At 2:53 p.m. officers investigated a vandalism report in the 1600 block of S. Banna Avenue. The resident reported the windshield of their vehicle was shattered by two bb's, Ward said.


Wednesday, Dec. 28, Sgt. Williams on duty.

  • At 9:30 a.m. officers investigated a vehicle burglary report in the 1300 block of E. Gladstone Street.
  • At 9:52 a.m. officers investigated a vehicle burglary report in the 800 block of S. Grand Avenue.
  • At 2:49 p.m. officers investigated a theft report in the 200 block of E. Route 66. Officers arrested Jose Picazo, 41, for petty theft with a prior, receiving known stolen property and for violating his parole. Picazo was held without bail.
  • At 4:16 p.m. officers arrived to the 300 block of E. Route 66 and arrested David Vaughn, 55, for trespassing. Vaughn was cited for $500.
  • At 6:46 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance report in the 900 block of E. Woodland Lane and arrested the subject on a prior warrant. The subject was cited for $15,000.
  • At 9:05 p.m. officers investigated a public drunkenness report in the 300 block of E. Route 66 and arrested David Vaughn for disorderly conduct resulting from alcohol. Vaughn was held on $250 bail. Vaughn was arrested earlier in the day for trespassing.


Thursday, Dec. 29, Sgt. Randazzo on duty.

  • At 7:41 a.m. officers investigated a grand theft report in the 1400 block of E. Route 66. A cell phone and some other items were stolen from a vehicle, according to Randazzo. The thefts, however, may have occurred somewhere between Glendora and Huntington Beach.
  • At 8:17 a.m. officers investigated a theft report in the 700 block of E. Dalton Avenue. The resident's mail was stolen several weeks ago, but first reported Dec. 29.
  • At 11:31 a.m. officers were called to Walmart, 1950 E. Auto Centre Drive on a reported theft in progress. Officers arrested Gerald Venemann, 44, for theft. Venemann was cited for $1,000 and released. Venemann is accused of stealing several Barbie Dolls from the store.
  • At 7:30 p.m. officers performed a traffic stop in the 100 block of E. Route 66 and arrested the driver on several outstanding warrants. The driver was heldin lieu of $10,000 bail.
  • At 7:43 p.m. officers investigated a vehicle theft report in the 1300 block of E. Gladstone Street.


Friday, Dec. 30, Lt. Caldwell on duty.

  • At 9:58 a.m. officers responded to a trespassing report in the 300 block of E. Route 66. The caller alleged a transient was showering himself on the eastern side of the building with a garden hose. Officers arrested David Vaughn for trespassing. He was cited for $500 and released.
  • At 1:03 p.m. officers responded to the 600 block of S. Scott Place on a battery report and arrested Jimmie Crooks, 20, for battery. Crooks was cited for $500 and released.
  • At 4:25 p.m. officers responded to a in the 600 block of W. Route 66. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled in a tan-colored car, according to authorities. An investigation is ongoing.
  • At 5:59 p.m. officers conducted a pedestrian check in the 1300 block of E. Gladstone Street and arrested the subject on an outstanding warrant. The subject was cited for $15,000 and released.
  • At 6:22 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of S. Grand Avenue and arrested Angel Lopez, 19, on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale. Lopez was held in lieu $20,000 bail.
  • At 9:08 p.m. officers investigated a residential burglary report on the 1200 block of E. Foothill Blvd. and arrested Danny McIlvain, 21, for receiving known stolen property and for possession of marijuana. McIlvain was held in lieu $20,000 bail.


Saturday, Dec. 31, Lt. Lamborghini and Lt. Caldwell on duty.

  • At 12:41 a.m. officers responded to a family disturbance on the 400 block of W. Kirkwall Road and arrested Pedro Blass, 44, for battery on a current or former spouse. Blass was released on $20,000 bond. Also arrested was Alejandro Hernandez, 23, for disorderly conduct from alcohol. Hernandez was cited for $250.
  • At 3:24 a.m. officers responded to a disturbance on the 1900 block of E. Kenoma Street and arrested the subject on disorderly conduct from alcohol. the subject was cited for $250.
  • At 11:52 a.m. officers investigated a grand theft auto report in the 600 block of E. Claraday Street.
  • At 1:44 p.m. officers investigated a municipal code violation in the 600 block of S. Grand Avenue and arrested the subject on two prior warrants. The subject was cited for $50,000 and released.
  • At 5:46 p.m. officers responded to a public drunkenness report in the 200 block of W. Foothill Blvd. and arrested the subject for disorderly conduct from alcohol. The subject was held in lieu $250 bail.
  • At 6:23 p.m. officers responded to Kohl's, 1225 S. Lone Hill Avenue, on a reported theft in progress. Officers arrested the subject on suspicion of petty theft. The subject was cited for $1,000 and released.


Sunday, Jan. 1, Sgt. Amaro and Sgt. Randazzo on duty.

  • At 1:06 a.m. officers responded to the 600 block of S. Scott Place on a disturbance call. Glendora Police were informed of a fight at the residence and arrested Eriberto Martinez, 25, for DUI and for having a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit. Martinez was held in lieu of $15,000 bail.
  • At 6:14 a.m. officers arrived to a traffic hazard on N. Barranca at Mauna Loa avenues. The vehicle looked suspicious to officers because it had a lot of traffic collision damage, Randazzo said. Officers arrested two occupants on disorderly conduct resulting from alcohol. Both subjects were cited for $250 and released.
  • At 8:31 a.m. officers responded to an injury traffic collision in the 400 block of E. Plymouth Street. A 53-year-old woman hit a house with her vehicle causing minor damage. The woman was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries and it is unknown if the woman was intoxicated as a report is still in process, Randazzo said.
  • At 10:50 a.m. officers investigated a residential burglary report on the 200 block of W. Whitcomb Avenue. According to officers the house was ransacked, money was stolen, some computer equipment was stolen, possibly other items were taken as well.
  • At 8:31 p.m. officers investigated a suspicious occupied vehicle on Glendora Mountain Road at the Gate and arrested the subject for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. The driver was cited for $250 and released.
