Four Injured After Car Plunges Off Glendora Mtn. Road

A vehicle reportedly plunged 200 feet over the side on Glendora Mountain Road Thursday, injuring the four occupants inside, authorities said.

The green Nissan Sentra went over the right embankment on the mountain road near mile marker six just before 12:30 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol traffic logs.

One of the vehicle's occupants climbed out of the car and reached the road to call authorities. The California Highway Patrol responded to the collision; the accident was on the county portion of the road.

The victim could not provide a mile marker, because he did not know where the car crashed. Fire fighters had the victim recall on a 9-1-1 line so authorities could pin point the call, according to the CHP.

Twenty-two-year-old Jason Dominguez of Baldwin Park and 21-year-old Luis Hernandez of Azusa were ejected, suffered head injuries, and were airlifted to a hospital, where their conditions have been upgraded from serious to
"moderate.''  The patients could not be flown to County/USC due to foggy weather, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department scanner reports. The other two occupants Nineteen-year-old Kevin Padilla of Baldwin Park and the driver 19-year-old Carlos Avila, also of Baldwin Park, suffered minor injuries. They were transported by ground to Foothill Presbyterian Hospital in Glendora.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Station in San Dimas also assisted.

Fire fighters summoned the helicopter once all four victims were brought to the top of the road. The CHP is investigating the crash, according to scanner reports.
