Gold Line Update: Azusa Avenue Reopens to Traffic

Progress continues on the Metro Gold Line extension from Pasadena to the Azusa-Glendora border.

Azusa Avenue reopened earlier this week after weeks of at-grade street crossing work in preparation for the Gold Line extension project from Pasadena to the Azusa-Glendora border.

The street in neighboring Azusa reopened for pedestrian and vehicle traffic Monday, according to the Metro Gold Line Construction Authority.

Construction work continues on the at-grade street crossings at Pasadena Avenue and San Gabriel Avenue.

This month, freight tracks will be relocated to Palm Drive, just as it had been done on Citrus Avenue. Once completed, according to the authority, the freight track will be relocated between downtown Azusa and Glendora.

The Azusa station near Citrus College will be the last stop before work begins on the second phase of construction from Glendora to Montclair, including stops in San Dimas and Claremont.
