Farmers Market Set to Debut May 11

Participants to offer organic produce and other foods as city hopes to bring greater exposure to the Village.

The Glendora Business Improvement District will host a farmers market this Saturday, May 11.

The event will be scheduled once a week from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot located behind the Village Plaza off Vista Bonita between Foothill and Meda avenues.

The Organic Produce & Artisans Farmers Market is said to offer fresh, homemade food, including bread, tamales, roasted peanuts, organic honey and more. Patrons can also purchase a selection of plants for their home gardens.

"We've wanted to host a Farmers market for a long time," said Annette Nemeth, chairperson for the Business Improvement District Advisory Committee in a press release. "It will help us achieve our mission to promote Glendora Village … as a vital, safe, unique shopping and dining destination and to heighten awareness of our business."

This is being considered a "pilot" program, with a farmer's market every Saturday until Sept. 28.
