Dozens of Glendora residents were shaken Monday night by what they described as a very loud explosion.

“Very loud, louder than fireworks,” Glendora resident Mike Kinney said. “Like an explosion and then helicopter.”

Glendora Police dispatched police units and a helicopter to search the area, but could not find the source of the noise.

“Typically, the cause of such an explosion is power utility failure, but that was not apparent in last night’s incident,” said Capt. Tim Staab.
