I am an Eagle Scout and also a recipient of the Scout's God & Country award through myRead More Presbyterian Church in the mid-60's. The Scout's ban on gays is embarrassing, ignorant and homophobic -- reminds me of the discrimination that young black men went through during the early 60's to become Boy Scouts. It is contrary to Scouting values, American values and Christian values and MUST be overturned.

Gays do not attack! Gays are people just like us! there is NO. Correlation between gays andRead More molesters! The top 3 places molesters are..... #1 churches #2 cub scouts:boy scouts #3 schools Young children that are gay do not know how to deal with their feelings. They generally do not tell anyone. These young kids are perfect targets for molesters! Kids that know they are gay need love and support. The scouts Are not monitored Molesters are drawn to boys who are having issues, at home, wether they are confused with their sexuality, or a fatherless home! Scouts are not monitored by the state! I believe Anyone working with children should be investigated thoroughly! Also, molesters are not born that way.... They are taught that horrendous behavior! I volunteered my time working with sex crimes. The above statements are true... Look it up! Just because a " dad" is the leader in the scounts... Means nothing! A molester is just a man . UNTIL a child has the courage to come fourth and tell someone! Isn't the Mormon church the main controlling force behind the whole scout arena? Look that up too!!!! The top 3 places that sex crimes happen ... Is frightening! If your child is gay... Please find it in yourself to love, support, and be there for your child!

My son is in scouts. When this first came up, I was concerned about them sleeping in tents together.Read More When I really thought about it, It's like Annie says, They are not going to become molesters. Just like, They are not going to cut or stab anyone with the knives they are all allowed to carry. People are afraid of the unknown & what might make them uncomfortable.

I am so glad the library is able to expand it's hours, especially during the summer. Where I grewRead More up (Iowa), 50 years later, the library still is open 7 days a week, a total of 70 hours. I consider the Public Library to be so important to every community, and will be increasing my financial support of the Library Foundation this year.

I retired at 48. A really intelligent money manager or investment counselor is a must. I pay out ofRead More pocket for health and dental insurance. But my home and car are paid for and I have no debts. It's easier to retire when those things fall into place.

What's she doing for health insurance?

Marlene is spot on!!! Unfortunately in the current self absorbed instant gratification society,Read More what Marlene has done is considered "Extreme savings" as this article is in the titled. But in reality, what Marlene has done is prudent, wise, responsible, done without puttting a burden on government and society. She should be admired, instead, the twisted logic of some people ridicule her for being cheap, prudish, miserly etc.... All of her money saving strategies add up. Except for clipping coupons and putting 45% into retirement fund, I pretty much mirror the techniques that she uses to save money. At the same time, one has to become educated and work very hard to earn money. I know personally, without a dime of inheritance, that becoming financially independent is possible through saving, hard work, discipline and self control.
The NTSB recommended states lower the blood-alcohol threshold for driving under the influence from 0.08 percent to 0.05 percent.
Danlp May 17, 2013 at 08:45 pm
No, don't lower it. .08 is a reasonable level that's worked for years since the limit was loweredRead More from .1 percent.
Judy McGehee May 17, 2013 at 11:32 am
Yes, lower the limit.........I've lost too many loved ones to drunk drivers and seen so manyRead More families touched by drinking and driving..........stop the madness........... ditto Annie S's comment!
NT May 17, 2013 at 08:36 am
BTW, you don't have to blow a .08 to get aressted. PD arrest people everyday who blow less, if theyRead More feel they're impaired (or if you're being an a-hole). So it seems kinda moot.

I am sure I'm way off the mark here.....but if you're going to post an event on the Patch, it wouldRead More have been really smart to let the public know the date/day of our newly organized Farmers Market...instead all 50,000 of the residences will have to call the phone number....I'm assuming it is on Saturdays, in the downtown area north of Foothill on Glendora Avenue 10am - 2pm Thank you very much!

They should try enviting the trendy food trucks like Kogi and Grilled Cheese etc. They pull in bigRead More crowds as well as provide food vendors.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the fact that the farmer's market was brought back solely to lureRead More people to the Village? A city should use a farmer's market to promote healthy eating and leisurely fun, not as an advertising gimmick for salons and real estate offices.

This is great! Our daughter will old enough be a special Olympics athete next year, and I can'tRead More wait to get her signed up! We will be there on Wednesday to support this awesome cause!
