Fair????? Putting aside separation of church and state, I believe employment laws will prevail.Read More This case will appear in court to set a precedence. Many of St. Lucy’s administrators knew of Mr. Bencomo’s sexual orientation prior to marriage so it makes it kind of difficult when you state that you don’t believe in something yet turn the other way, all up until it becomes ‘real’ public knowledge in the papers. As I said last year, attorney’s would be chomping at the bit to represent Mr. Bencomo; I expect this will be a win. It’s a change of the times; people voted for gay marriage to be allowed – so he isn't breaking the law and to boot you tell him on the way out that he was an exceptional teacher???? Clearly wrongful termination.

Something that is interesting to note is that high school grads are going to four year universitiesRead More and studying subject that isn't marketable. While on the other hand you have people getting vocational training at vocational schools that essentially guarantees them a job out of school that will make them 'x' amount of money. So it isn't that college degrees are worthless, some are. It is also said that sometimes trade school is the right choice! Private doesn't matter. All employers both public and private must comply with the law and includedRead More in that are rules against discrimination. California law goes beyond Federal and includes sexual orientation. Most likely this will result in an out of court settlement.
