I love you, man. I wanted to say thank you for taking care of my old friend. I tried to talk himRead More into moving to Colorado with me, but he grew up in Glendora and didn't want to leave. Again, thank you.

Angel I think the key is to find loved ones and friends and family that love and know you and MAKERead More them listen. We all need people to talk to be it friends or family. Rely on those that really are a part of your life. Social media and the internet just like real life can have very cruel people so dont be overly sensitive to the dumb people that say bad things. I'm sure you will do great!

Joe was a "mans man", loved by the women and respected by all. His legacy will live onRead More and on. I feel very fortunate to call him my friend. I am sure he is already organizing something in Heaven. There are a number of other great Glendorans that have preceeded him and are right thre willing to help. RIP Joe,

Got the pleasure of meeting Huell at a UC Davis fund raiser. He was very nice and so funny. We haveRead More a picture we took with him and also he signed a t-shirt we have framed. Almost all our trips are because of him. He helped us learn and love California. RIP Huell.

One of our family treasures. My daughter, Molly, was unimpressed, however, and did a greatRead More impersonation of his "Hah, Ahm Hoowell Howser, etc." which in turn became a special memory for me. We promise ourselves to visit at least one of his special places.

Huell Howser's shows were a refreshing change from the negativity on the local and national newsRead More broadcasts. I've learned so much about the state that has been my home for 44 years. After watching "Jeopardy," I always watched his shows. His death on Sunday was a big loss for California. God bless you, Huell. If only you could do shows from heaven. He will definitely be missed.
Patricia Sommer January 14, 2013 at 07:23 pm
He will be so missed. As a disabled person stuck on home his travel shows provided access allowingRead More me to get around our golden state and see the sites in ways I could never have seen them otherwise.

I listened to Frank for years, and I loved his passion for truth, and his ability to put REASONRead More where reason is lost! I admired Frank's patience, and his willingness to be kind always, demonstrating the power of GOD at work in him as callers would challenge him to the core! He never gave up the fight! It wasn't until Frank was gone that I got the full impact of what he had done in my life. I am going to be lost now, but i'm thankful for all that I learned through listening to him. i can only imagine how his family misses him! My prayers go out to all of you. There is no mistake in God's plan! May He bless you and comfort you with peaceful memories, as Heaven rejoices! May Frank's legacy live on! Deborah Garcia

Somehow in the edited video, the most important vehicles in the procession, the group of carsRead More carrying the family of SSgt. Wade Bennett in the cars between the police officers and the patriot riders, got completely missed. Perhaps it was by choice, out of respect, but I would have liked to have the family cars included.

Those of us that haved served our country, are well aware that at any given time, we may be in harmsRead More way. We understand that when we enlist. Those who have lost loved ones, understand that we have put our lives on the line so that we can be safe. And quoting a line from a great movie "we stand on that wall and say no one is going to hurt you on my watch" As an Honorably Discharged veteran, I fully understand that feeling and that commitment. I served very proudly from 1976 to 1980. I was stationed in Turkey when the hostages were taken in Iran. For those of us that have served overseas, we know how dangerous other parts of the world are. My deepest sympathy goes out the family, his wife and child. He was a soldier and was living the life that many of us have lived. Serving our great country proudly. Rest in peace Sarge. You did your best. Thank you.

My son Kevin is a junior at GHS and a leukemia survivor who underwent 3.5 years chemo. This sad newsRead More brings up so many emotions for us. Of course we are grateful to have our son, but the fear of relapse is a constant shadow. Most of all we are so sad that this disease is still taking young lives and devastating families. We intend to participate in any capacity we can in any events scheduled to ease this family's pain and burden. We know that Chris is free from pain and worry and know that he wants healing for his family. I pray that God gives this community the wisdom and heart to find ways to facilitate that healing.

I have very fond memories of Paul, and his family. The Glendora Tennis trny was something I alwaysRead More looked forward to as a child where I would go with my father who with many, helped Paul out for several years. As I got older I even played in the trny a handful of times. Living in Glendora I was fortunate to be among some great people, just like Mr. Baiotto.

Audry, This is Kevin's mom. You are a very strong mother!! I was angry when I lost Kevin and hisRead More death was an accident! No one tried to end his life!!! I think I would be very angry!! I first met Mark when I was 12 years old when my sister worked at Napoli's (next to the old RalphsRead More on Foothill) he would hang out for hours with us sharing stories and smiling, he was always smiling. I remember he was at the opening of Miller's Outpost and was the first to receive and wear a free T shirt from the manager. I do not think I have ever gone more than a couple of months without seeing "Downtown Mark". I would go to Maria's for lunch from time to time and see him and he would never fail to ask how my sister and family was doing and never in 30 years did he forget my name. I think a memorial plaque downtown would be a fitting tribute. I for one would be happy to contribute. Mark was a blessing to our community and Heaven is better for having him.

Mark Ryan will be missed and I was sad to hear of his passing. I have been away from Glendora of 28Read More years and did actually see him on one of my return visits 5 years ago, but did not say hello and now wish I did. I am certain that his legacy of kindness will be spoken about at his services and the reminder for us to slow down and love people around us will also be a strong message. Thank you Mark Ryan for living such a good life.

The first computers most schools had access to were Apple's. I learned computer basics on an AppleRead More and owned the Apple IIE, the first Mac and just about every one after that. Apple computers were so easy to operate even I could figure them out! God bless Steve Jobs!
Donna Smith October 6, 2011 at 01:22 pm
Steve Jobs was an incredible man, to say the least, and he will be greatly missed. About a yearRead More ago, I went into the AT&T store to upgrade my cell phone. I said I wanted any phone but the iPhone. I walked out with an iPhone! Why? Because it was one of the most amazing inventions that I had ever seen. Being technology-challenged, I was afraid of being overwhelmed, but the iPhone is extremely user-friendly and has helped me in so many ways. Last year my only child moved across the country to go to college. We both have the iPhone and can video chat whenever we want. The navigation has prevented me from being lost many times. Most importantly, when I went to visit my father's grave last Memorial Day, I got lost and couldn't find his gravesite and didn't know the number of it. The office was closed, but I was able to pull up the cemetery's website and locate the gravesite numbers and found his grave. I have hundreds of pictures of family and friends on my iPhone that I was able to quickly and easily take because it is so easy to use. I would say that the iPhone is a small device with endless possibilities to make life better. God bless Steve Jobs!
Donna Smith October 6, 2011 at 01:24 pm
p.s. My son recently got a job working for Apple and absolutely loves his job and has never beenRead More happier. He couldn't have had a better role model than Steve Jobs.
