You can thank your assemblymen for screwing this up.

Closing the barn door after the horses have left. We have all of history to refer to, but theseRead More people cannot figure out that high taxes and over regulation drives people to friendlier regions. To hell with Los Angeles County. Film isn't the only industry they are trying to drive away. The entire state government is complicit in a mean, criminal persecution of small business as well.

I am not sure that this article's title is appropriate--straight couples were married in the weddingRead More too.

Very true, Scar!

Of course it's appropriate or are you going to say that any weddings would have taken place at allRead More if they were only between a man and a woman? I'm ok with gay marriage but this was pretty much kept secret so people who might not wanted to have attended the type of ceremony they were now a part of were left without any real choice but to be involved. Thought the left was all about choice? How do you think all these artists would have responded if during the presentation for best gospel song Rick Warren showed up and did a mass baptism? Yeah, the left would have gone nuts.

I have seen all the movies nominated for "Best Picture"...If I were voting, I'd give thatRead More vote to "12 Years a Slave". It's moving, painful, heart-breaking and life-affirming.
Brian January 17, 2014 at 11:36 pm
I agree with Larry, I've also seen all/most of the movies that are nominated for the main oscarRead More categories and "12 years a slave" is the best of them imo. Its a bit like watching Schindler's List but leaving you with the feeling like at the end of Million Dollar Baby. It stays with you a while. If you are looking for the best performances, I would say the 2 performances in Dallas Buyers Club stand atop the best (matthew mcconaughey and jared leto)
Slim Jim January 18, 2014 at 06:39 am
I agree Brian....Matthew and Jared are superb in that film! If they win, they do deserve it! IRead More thought they were the best and then I remembered Christian Bale in "American Hustle"...another GREAT performance. The choices are tough this year!

What a nice honor! Vaya con Dios, Crystal!
Tina August 7, 2013 at 07:44 pm
Best Wishes Crystal. Growing up in Glendora and being a Latina as well, wasn't easy. Hold yourRead More head up high and be proud of yourself. You go girl!

I saw Paula when she was at Citrus last time and have seen her about four other times in variousRead More venues. She is an original, wryly intelligent and extremely funny. I like the fact that she works "clean" and proves that you don't need to use a plethora of four letter words to be funny. She is wonderful and well worth the admission to this show! I have tickets to this show and can't wait!

My wife Karen and I attended this gathering to honor Huell ... a very nice tribute to him. AlthoughRead More he requested that no memorial service be held, I think that Huell would be pleased that his body of work and accomplishments are recognized and appreciated by Californians in all walks of life. Thanks to Councilman LaBonge for make this observance possible
