L.A. County Fair to Honor Glendora ‘Community Heroes’

Glendora residents can purchase discounted tickets to the fair for Glendora Day.

Three Glendora residents will have the honor of being named Community Heroes at this year’s L.A. County Fair.

Longtime Glendora residents Keith and Dottie Hillard and Chandi Israni took this year’s annual recognition.

Each year, the L.A. County Fair recognizes Community Heroes from 17 surrounding cities.

Wednesday, Sept. 12 is , a day designated to pay homage to the community’s volunteers, students, humanitarians and organizations.

The Hilliards are active in local organizations, including the Rotary Club, Glendora Corral 35, Foothill Presbyterian Hospital Foundation and the .  The couple was honored for dedicating their “time and talents selflessly to the youth, seniors and animals of the community,” according to an L.A. County Fair press release.

Israni is being honored for her excellent academics and her volunteer work at a local hospital and with Girl Scouts.  

Glendora Day will include a community reception at the Millard Sheets Center for the Arts at 3:30 p.m. Wed. Sept. 12, followed by a Community Parade at 5 p.m. A presentation to the Community Heroes will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the Expo Hall 4 Stage.
