Volunteer Opportunity: Donate blood for American Red Cross.

Who does it benefit?: January is National Blood Donor Month and you can help a patient in need of blood by being a donor. Patients with various conditions or diseases need blood, including those in major car accidents, or those with sickle cell anemia.
Why Volunteer?: There is always a constant need for blood. Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood and a total of 30 million blood components are transfused each year, according to 2006 American Red Cross statistics.
