HOPING this comment brings this story back on a front burner. Tonite, up at the park where this gentleman passed away, the teams that were in attendance are back again and this time the umpire's family will be there for a personal memorial. They would like to honor their family member in a place that he loved.. the baseball diamond.. ALL gate fees will go to the family to help them in their time of need. Game starts at 6pm.. I do not know the intimate details of when the family would like their presence to be known and do their memorial speech however the turnout of those who did and did not know him is always appreciated. Lynda who runs these tournaments is absolutely irreplaceable. This family has mine and my husband's condolences during this tragic time.
