The San Dimas Stage Race was born as the Pomona Valley Stage Race in 2000, a 3-day stage race that was the brainchild of Rick Thomas, president of SC Velo at the time, according to a race history on the cycling club’s website.

The event has since been led by several cycling members who have grown the race to what it is today, race organizers said. For details on the race, check on the Southern California VELO Cycling Club’s website.
