Amgen Bicyclists 'Whoosh' Through Glendora

Competitors in the seventh stage of the 800-mile race give Glendora residents a sight.

After a 30-minute delay, competitors in the continued racing Saturday, traversing much of the San Gabriel Mountains in a big loop on their way to Mount Baldy Village.

Over 100 cyclists baked in the sun as the rode through almost 80 miles of the Angeles National Forest, starting in Upland, passing through Azusa, Glendora, up Glendora Mountain Road and finishing on Mount Baldy.

Onlookers waited for about two hours before cyclists arrived. In all, the enthusiasts on Sierra Madre at Glendora Mountain Road were treated to about 30 minutes of some of the world's finest cyclists before they sped off onto the treacherous road and out of site.
