Viewfinder: Magic Show at St. Dorothy School

Students and parents are treated to an evening of magic as part of a fundraiser to purchase new classroom technology.

With the ever-changing technology, there comes a continuing need to keep pace with new school equipment.

The technology committee at St. Dorothy school hosted a Magic Night Friday evening to help raise money for new equipment for the 270 students at the private Catholic K-8 school. The group coordinates monthly Family Nights toward the effort. Technology committee member and city councilman Terry Kent said the school received a $20,000 grant from Dell, providing the students with new computers and smartboards in each classroom.

Magician Taylor Hughes provides the evening's entertainment for the 200 children and parents at the fundraiser.
