“The Bronze Star” Returns to Citrus College Stage

The story of a gay soldier struggling to adapt to post-war life ran to sold out audiences in November.

is returning to Citrus College, this time on the Haugh Performing Arts Center stage for a one-time performance Friday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m.

The play, written by Citrus College history instructor Dr. Bruce Solheim, is the story of a gay soldier’s struggle to adapt to society after returning from war. It explores current veteran issues of PTSD and post-war struggles.

The play features Citrus College student actors, some of whom are real-life veterans. One of the play’s star actors is also a Bronze Star recipient.

This will be the final performance at Citrus College before the play will compete Feb. 12 – 17 in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival against colleges and universities in California, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, and Hawaii.

If “The Bronze Star” wins the regional competition, it will compete at the national finals at the Kennedy Center April 15.
