Glendora Unified School District was included in a recent WestEd study of 30 California school districts rated as high performing across nearly all student groups.
The study explored the districts’ role in school improvement and the factors that contribute to each district’s success.
The high-performing districts were identified in the study as districts that “raised all boats,” meaning nearly all schools and student subgroups in the district are performing “substantially better than statistically predicted during a four-year period compared to similar districts in California.”
The districts were selected based on each district's clear vision for instructional improvement and support for struggling students.
“It is an excellent reflection of the outstanding teamwork of all individuals who make up the team of GUSD for all our students,” said Glendora Unified Superintendent Robert Voors.
Other San Gabriel Valley school districts included in the study were Arcadia Unified, La Canada, San Marino and South Pasadena.
