"Saluting Our Veterans" Coming To Citrus College

The eighth annual Saluting Our Veterans will descend on Citrus College Nov. 7.

The event pays tribute to the men and women who have served in the United States Military.

Citrus partners with Azusa Pacific University every year along with the cities of Azusa and Glendora to organize the program. This event will feature a performance by the Gladstone High School's marching band, an AMVETS Honor Guard, military exhibits, keynote speeches and musical tribute.

This year’s celebration will include the recognition of community veteran honorees Spc. 4th Class Rose Sayre, a Citrus College employee; Capt. Gabriel Higerd, a graduate of APU; Spc. 4th Class Robert Nelson of Glendora and Sgt. 1st Class Jacob Hostetler of Azusa.

The keynote speakers are Citrus College alumni U.S. Navy veteran Ashley Solano and U.S. Marine Corps veteran Fernando Salazar, Jr.

The event lasts from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Citrus College's Campus Center Mall. For more information, call (626) 852-6421, or email veteranscenter@citruscollege.edu.
