Glendora, Charter Oak High Schools Seek League Realignment

Facing tougher opponents and larger schools in their current leagues, area high schools ask for relief.

Glendora High School wants out of the Baseline League, Charter Oak is looking for relief in the Sierra League, while Damien and St. Lucy’s lost their appeal to stay in the Sierra League.

Mt. Sac area league representatives met Friday to discuss the possibility of shifting league placements for the 2014-16 cycle, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

Glendora High School was among seven other schools asking for relief before the Mt. Sac area finalizes reconfigurations May 13.

Glendora High School has protested its placement in the Baseline League since the Tartans moved from the Sierra League, arguing that the school’s student population was far less than other schools in the Baseline League.

Damien and St. Lucy’s will be placed in the Parochial leagues after their failed appeal to stay in the Sierra League.
