Dale Salwak uses his magic to help bridge cultural divides.

The English literature professor/magician first traveled to North Korea in 2009 to perform in front of audiences that included .

Since then, Salwak has visited the country each year, performing magic in front of a spellbound crowd.

According to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Salwak sees his performances in North Korea as a form of cultural dialogue, even it is only on an entertainment level.

Salwak told Patch in 2012 following his third visit to the country, “I’ve discovered how little people know about the country apart from what they read or what they’ve seen in the media. And there is still so much more I have to learn myself.”

We love Dr. Salwak!!! He was my english teacher at Citrus some 30 years ago, and performed annually (for many years) at Citrus' show, "Stars of Magic". I would like to read more about this -- perhaps you could finish writing paragraph two of this article? Thanks!
