Marco "Marky" Delgado, a 16-year-old Glendora High School student, will be available for selection in August.

Chivas USA announced that the soccer club has signed 16-year-old Glendora midfielder Marco Antonio “Marky” Delgado as a Homegrown Player.  Once Delgado has fulfilled his Homegrown Player training requirements, he will be available for selection in August. Per League and team policy, details of the contract were not revealed.

Delgado, a Glendora High School student, is a youth standout on the soccer field. At age 13, he was a member of the U.S. U-15 Boys National Team, and traveled to and participated in a tournament in Argentina.

Delgado also participated with the U.S. Under 17 national team in Mondial Minimes, an international tournament in France. In that tournament, Delgado started all four games against France, Japan, Portugal and Uruguay, playing 360 minutes and contributing one assist against France.

Delgado participated in four matches with the Goats Reserves during the 2012 Chivas USA preseason. Delgado was also a member of the U.S. U-17 Residency Program during the fall 2010 and spring 2011 semesters.

“I am really excited to have Marky Delgado become part of our first team. He is a player who has done so well for our youth team since he has been with us,” said Chivas USA Head Coach, Robin Fraser. “He is a player who immediately stood out as a very solid player and we’ve had him training with us for quite a while now and you can even see over the last couple of months how much he has developed. He has great ideas on the ball, a very soft first touch, and he has really picked up the pace at this level quickly. He is definitely one that we expect a bright future from.”
