Azusa Pacific to Graduate 1,450 Students

Gregory L Waybright, senior pastor of Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena, will be the keynote speaker for the graduate ceremony.

Azusa Pacific University will graduate 1,450 students during its commencement ceremonies May 4 at APU’s Cougar Stadium, 901 E. Alosta Ave., Azusa. The graduate and adult and professional studies ceremony will be 9:30 a.m., followed by the undergraduate ceremony at 6 p.m.

The private Christian university will hand out 855 bachelor’s degrees, 481 master’s degrees, 141 adult and professional studies degrees, and 7 doctoral degrees, according to a university statement.

Tickets are required to attend the ceremony.

Gregory L. Waybright, senior pastor of Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena , will speak at the graduate ceremony.  Before leading the congregation at Lake Avenue Church, a 114-year-old congregation with more than 4,000 members, Waybright was the president of Trinity International University in Deerfield, Ill. for 12 years.

Ken Fong, senior pastor of Evergreen Baptist Church in Los Angeles, will deliver the commencement address at the undergraduate ceremony.
