Volunteers Sought for Bond Committee

The Glendora Unified School District is accepting applications for people interested in overseeing the implementation of Measure G funds.

At their regularly scheduled meeting on June 11, 2012, the Board of Education of the Glendora Unified School District directed District staff to publicize and accept applications for positions on the District’s Bond Oversight Committee.

One of the provisions of Measure G, the District’s $41.31 million school construction bond, was the pledge by the District to implement a Bond Oversight Committee. The Committee, which consists of twelve district residents, meets quarterly to audit the expenditures made from the bond funds to ensure that the dollars are spent on items approved by the voters of the District.

The Committee reviews expenditure records, District audit reports, and other financial records to verify that the expenditures are approved, appropriate, and have the proper documentation.

District residents who are interested in serving on the Committee should contact Marc Chaldu or Janna Wells at the District Office (626-963-1611 x361) for an application. Deadline for applications is July 12, 2012.
