'Summer Slam' Freeway Closure Begins Friday
The eastbound Pomona 60 Freeway will be closed until Monday morning.
The last of four 55-hour weekend closures will affect eastbound lanes of the Pomona (60) Freeway in Industry beginning tonight, potentially snarling traffic for motorists in the San Gabriel Valley.
Beginning at 10 p.m., two lanes of the eastbound 60 Freeway will be closed between Fullerton Road and Nogales Street. The Hacienda Boulevard, Azusa Avenue, Fullerton Road and South Nogales Street onramps will be closed, along with the Fullerton and Nogales offramps.
The entire eastbound side of the freeway will be closed from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday and Monday.

The closures -- dubbed "Summer Slam" by Caltrans -- will continue until 5 a.m. Monday.
The project involves resurfacing the 60 Freeway between the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway and the Orange (57) Freeway. It is scheduled for completion in late 2014.
