Redevelopment Projects Hang in the Balance

A visual look at current projects funded by Glendora's Redevelopment Agency.

As the battle over redevelopment agencies is set to , Glendora city officials are moving quickly to salvage what it can of redevelopment funds before state legislation severely restricts it.

During an Aug. 9 City Council meeting, members approved proceedings to adopt ABXI 27, a law that would still allow redevelopment agencies to function if cities make alternative payments to state taxing agencies.

But the future of current redevelopment projects continue to hang in the balance, as the city must now account for more than $2 million in first-year payments to the state, followed by  $600,000 in yearly payments.
