Non-Profit To Paint City Curbs

Glendora officials have authorized a non-profit organization to undertake the repainting of addresses on the city's street curbs.

Care for the Children will conduct the repainting of all addresses and will adhere to the city's specifications of four-inch black letters on a white background. Care for the Children will not be paid for this work, but will instead ask for donations after the work is completed, city officials said.

Work could possibly begin Dec. 2, pending approval of the schedule by Care for the Children.

Care for the Children estimates the work will be $15 for each address. Donations are voluntary, city officials said.

The voluntary donations can be made in cash or by check, which can be made payable to Care for the Children. Checks can also be mailed to:

Care for the Children
P.O. Box 3144
Whittier, CA, 90605.

Cash donations should not be mailed.

The Glendora Municipal Code reportedly allows for this type of work to be performed by non-profit organizations as a fundraising opportunity, as long as the work performed meets city requirements, officials said.

If residents may be unhappy with the work completed, they can call the Glendora Public Works Department at (626) 914-8246.
