Nelson, Tessitor and Santoro Elected to Glendora City Council

Judy Nelson captures the most votes, followed by incumbent Doug Tessitor and Joe Santoro.

Seven candidates campaigned for three open spots for Glendora City Council and on Tuesday evening, Glendora voters made their choice.

Judy Nelson, Doug Tessitor and Joe Santoro earned the most votes, according to unofficial results.

Nelson, owner of Mrs. Nelson's Book Shop in La Verne, captured the most votes at 2,974 votes.

Tessitor, the lone incumbent in the race, followed with 2,687.

Santoro, a retired Monrovia Police Chief, received 2,406. According to City Clerk Kathleen Sessman, about 500 outstanding ballots still need to be counted.

The results were announced at the City Council Chambers at 10:05 p.m.
