Last Chance: Library Hosts Last of Opera Talks Series

Cut from the Glendora Public Library’s budget, the Opera Talks program will make its final appearance Saturday.

The will conclude it Opera Talks series this Saturday, May 12 at 2 p.m. at the Bidwell Forum with a discussion on La Boheme by Giacomo Puccini.

The LA Opera’s Speakers Bureau will lead the interactive presentation on the opera’s history, literature and philosophy.

La Boheme is a story of a poet who discovers true love with a fragile seamstress, and a painter and cabaret singer who rediscover their passion. The Italian opera tells a story of joy and loss in lively bohemian Paris.

Presented by the Glendora Public Library and Glendora Public Library Friends Foundation, the workshop is the last of the Opera Talks series. Part of $195,356 in reductions, the Opera Talks series was to be cut for the next fiscal year.
