JPL Engineer To Give Residents 'Insight' Into Next Mars Mission

A man with with Venus, Mars, asteroids and comets in his sights shares his vision for future flights to other worlds.

The lead trajectory analyst and self-proclaimed "interplanetary travel agent" will take a break from exploring the cosmos and stop by the Bidwell Forum, Saturday, April 27.

Mark Wallace, engineer and spokesman at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, will give details on the latest plans to send a lander, otherwise known as Insight, to the red planet, Mars, scheduled for 2016.

In addition to working on the upcoming Mars mission, Wallace was a member of the Navigation Team for the GRAIL mission to the moon and has developed concepts for robotics and manned missions to other planets besides Mars.

This presentation is the second in the JPL series hosted by the Glendora Public Library and is conducted in partnership with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory Speaker's Bureau.
