Gold Line Bridge Falsework Nearly Complete

Falsework for the I-210 Gold Line Bridge should be completed next week.

After Foothill Extension Construction Authority representatives met with Congressional officials and staff last week for an update on the Foothill Extension project, Chief Executive Officer of the project, Habib F. Balian announced that the falsework -- the temporary framework that provides structural support -- for the I-210 Gold Line Bridge is almost complete.  Skanska predicts the falsework will be fully up early next week.

Balian describes the progress as “a significant milestone for the project that required more than 20 full late-night closures of the eastbound I-210 Freeway over the last two months.”

There will be lanes for construction of the bridge through Friday night, March 16. All lanes will be closed at midnight through 5 a.m. Lanes will also be closed 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday, March 17.

Once the falsework is finished, crews will move on to building the main cross beam and superstructure.
