Friends Plaza Book Loft Celebrates Anniversary

The bookstore is hosting an open house Nov. 14 to 19.

Remember when the Friends Bookstore sold their donated and withdrawn books at the Glendora Public Library’s main floor? For 19 years the bookstore has sold books, CDs, DVDs to patrons, donating proceeds to Glendora Library events and outreach programs. It was five years ago the Friends Bookstore moved to its current location at the second floor of the library.

The move created a new “retreat” for sold items and the name was changed to the Friends Plaza Book Loft. The square footage tripled and the selection of books, CDs, DVDs and videos expanded.

To celebrate the anniversary, the bookstore is hosting a Bookstore Open House Nov. 14 to 19 during bookstore hours. The open house will include refreshments, drawings and book discounts.

The Friends Plaza Book Loft is located on the second level of the Glendora Public Library, 140 S. Glendora Avenue. The hours are: Monday to Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 pm.

For more information about the celebration or donations, contact Bookstore Manager, Kristy Batcheller at (626) 914-8207.

Go, go GPD. It is nice to be appreciated, but even better when someone acknowledges it.
