City To Hold Public Hearing on Congestion Management Compliance

The Glendora City Council will hold a public hearing and vote to adopt a resolution certifying compliance with the mandatory Congestion Management Program, Tuesday Aug. 13.

A Local Development Report detailing the city's development activity is submitted annually to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The city must submit the report in order to receive funding from the annual State gas tax, funding which provides for much of the public works projects throughout the city, officials said.

The CMP went into effect in 1990 with the passage of Proposition 111 and addresses the impact of local growth on the regional transportation system. The CMP seeks to link land use, transportation and air quality issues and to develop projects eligible to compete for State gas tax funds.

A Congestion Management Program is developed, adopted and updated biannually, as mandated by State statute.

The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Glendora Council Chambers, 116 E. Foothill Blvd.
