Chamber of Commerce New Residents in Village Center

The Chamber will lease its new building from the city for $1 a year.

The Glendora Chamber of Commerce will move into its new home in the Glendora Village Center next month.

The Glendora City Council approved an agreement to lease a city-owned office building at 224 N. Glendora Ave. to the Chamber for the next five years during Tuesday’s City Council meeting.

The Chamber’s current location is a converted home at 131 East Foothill Blvd. Its new location is a 2,065-square-foot building the city has owned since 1965. Until recently, the city’s redevelopment agency had been operating from there, but the building has been empty since redevelopment agencies were dissolved earlier this year.

In exchange for services to the city, the Chamber will lease the building for $1 a year. The Chamber will pay for all utilities and provide insurance coverage for the building.

The lease is effective Oct. 1.

Go, go GPD. It is nice to be appreciated, but even better when someone acknowledges it.
